Warm weather and good winds met those who made the trip to Carlyle for this years Carlyle regatta. It seemed as though everyone did thier part to help out as few sailors where in their normal boats. Bill Monsma lent his boat to Joe Ewing, so that David Crosby could sail Joe's boat. David needed Joe's boat in part because he lent his boat to Gerry Paoli so that Gerry could sail in his first Inland 20 Regatta, which he won. The class showed its true colors by being selfless enough to get as many boats on the water as possible.

Saturday morning brought sunny skies and a healthy breeze as the class made short work of the first two races of the regatta. In the afternoon the wind built, providing some big waves heading up the course and some fast rides heading down it. Things go so intense that on a hard reach to the leeward mark, Willie Crear broke his bow sprit, taking him out of action for Sunday's race.

Sunday again saw sunny skies, but with winds approaching 20 MPH and gusts over 25, only 6 boats made it to the start line. Joe Terry, regatta leader, capsized during a jibe and ended up in sixth place in the race. Joe and LaCinda ended up in a tie, and with both boats wining one race, it came down to a second tiebreaker. Gerry Paoli ended up in first, with Joe and LaCinda in second. Brook and Anne Patten sailed a solid regatta to round out the top 3.

Once again, Lake Carlyle put on a world class regatta. Big thanks to both the Crosby and Sepanski families for all the hard work to make sure the weekend was a success.
